Viola Alice LAMBERT was born on 14th November 1889 in Yorkshire, near Doncaster (Thorne Q1-1890 9C:756), daughter of William Lister and Mary Jane LAMBERT (née ROSS).
1891 census...Aged 1, she was at Ellison Street, Thorne with her father William L LAMBERT [38) County Court (Poor Law) Clerk born Bristol; her mother Mary J [30] born Camblesforth, W Yorks; sister Ethel M [5] born Thorne. 1901 census...Aged 11, she was at Grosvenor Terrace, Wetherby with her parents; sister Ethel M and brother Charles William [7] born Wheatley. 1911 census...Aged 21, she was working as a temporary childrens' nurse at Tadcaster Union Workhouse, Leeds Road, Tadcaster. Her father (unemployed); mother and brother Charles William (brewery clerk) were at Coronation Villas, Tadcaster She was Assistant Matron at White Lodge Emergency Hospital in the 1939 register, and was killed at Sturgess, Hairdressers, Eaton House, High Street, Newmarket
